Use in the paediatric population
The usual dosage of cefoperazone/sulbactam in children is 40 mg/kg/day to 80 mg/kg/day (i.e. 20 mg/kg/day to 40 mg/kg/day of cefoperazone activity) in 2 to 4 equally divided doses.1
In serious or refractory infections, these dosages may be increased up to 160 mg/kg/day (i.e. 80 mg/kg/day of cefoperazone activity) of the 1:1 ratio or 240 mg/kg/day (i.e. 160 mg/kg/day of cefoperazone activity) of the 1:2 ratio.1
